Staycation close to home – Delamar Southport | FairfieldMoms

With a pretty new baby at home we wanted to get away but not too far and that’s when we thought of the Delamar in Southport. Close enough to home but far enough to feel like we really were far away. It was great and I couldn’t recommend it more! We picked a Friday night in April, planned a massage, dinner and brunch the next day. We took full advantage of having my mom babysit and it was needed!

Booking is so easy and the staff is so sweet to accommodate us as there busy season is approaching. Especially now that they can hold in person events rooms fill up quick. I learned while at our stay they have long time stay apartments (if you are doing construction, waiting to move to a new home or having employees come from far for business, they do it all)! They also have larger suites for bridal parties to get ready, pictures or just larger suites to host large families. So much more then I knew about just from being there every once in a while.

First thing was first on my staycation, a massage was needed! The massage at there spa on the second floor was the best massage I have ever had! It was the best hour of relaxation, it actually felt like I was there for 2 hours, which is also an option. They offer many massage and facial packages which you don’t need to be staying at the hotel to take advantage of! This is definitely my new go to for a massage!

Upon arrival to our room there was a fruit platter and a bottle of wine with a note which was such a nice touch. The rooms are huge and that bed was so comfy!

We had dinner reservations at the Artisan, one of our favorite restaurants, and got there a little earlier so enjoyed a drink on the patio, a little chilly but the heat warmers were great. Again even if not staying at the Delamar we have been here plenty of times for brunch, dinner or just drinks. For dinner we decided on a fresh pasta dish and a steak entree, started with a a tuna appetizer and a bottle of wine. We never have desert but when in Rome! Everything was amazing and so freshly prepared. It was so nice to see Artisan busy and nicely socially distant.

The next morning we walked to downtown Southport for coffee, talk about feeling like on vaca. Such a cute area! I do feel this way when in Southport on a normal day but getting coffee at Sono Baking Company and sitting outside was even more vacation like! There was coffee and some grab and go items in the lobby. We grabbed a banana and worked out in there perfect size gym which no one else was using, always nice! We had brunch reservations for 11:30am and as we are always up early so we had some time to kill. Brunch at Artisan was great, sat outside, beautiful morning, delicious variety of food and headed home.

If you need a night away Delamar is definitely going to always be on my list. It’s convenient, quite and just what we needed! Next time I might go alone, which I know a lot of mom’s that did this for Mother’s Day, genius idea!
