Garelick & Herbs: 7 Ways This Local Business Can Help You This Holiday Season! | FairfieldMoms

You probably know that Garelick & Herbs is an easy, tasty place for a quick bite to-go or meet up with friends or colleagues on their beautiful patio in Southport and most of all a healthy way to feed our family!

We love their diverse takeout menu (think: the best homemade muffins (perfect for breakfast with kids!), cranberry apple tuna salad, brown rice, kale salad dishes, and pot pies that make dinner time a snap!). Not to mention their catering is also among the very best in the area. G&H has been serving our community  for 27 years (current locations include Southport and Greenwich)  and like many small businesses, are pivoting with the times to best support their customers.

We spoke to owner Paola Garelick about what they’re offering this holiday season—and how they can take more than just food off your plate (no pun intended!).  We hope you’ll consider supporting them and other small businesses this winter!

Ordering Is Super Easy

Waiting on the phone to speak to someone to place a holiday catering order or daily pick up order without the hassle  is so 2019—and Garelick & Herbs has online ordering down pat! Just go to GarelickandHerbs.com and your order will be processed within minutes. The site has all the order deadlines.

Thanksgiving orders are due by 11/22. Click here for Thanksgiving menu ordering.

They’re Giving Away Pies

Seriously—if you spend $200, you will get a free pie for Thanksgiving! And this isn’t any pie—their pecan and pumpkin pies taste just like homemade (because they are) but better.

They’re Still Doing Curbside Pickup

You can use the same ordering system (or phone of course!) to place a takeout order—for curbside pickup if you like. “Our number one goal is to keep our customers and employees safe and are working diligently to sustain our business, keep our employees working and serve healthy and delicious meals made with care and gratitude,” says Paola. We love their coffee, sandwiches, salads and homemade soups—all are a perfect weekday pick-me-up.

Stay Tuned for Special Menu Items All Winter Long

Paola & Jason have the same idea as we do—spread joy this holiday season in any way possible. So she’s coming up with new and classic dishes and other ways for families to celebrate Chanukah, Christmas and New Year’s!

They Have Gift Baskets

One stop shopping? Yes please! If you need a hostess or any other kind of gift, Garelick & Herbs has plenty of options. “We offer an array of gift baskets from dessert, gift bags filled with G&H house made soups, breads, entrees and dessert (a lot of people are sending care packages during these times),” says Paola. “We also customize baskets to clients request including an array of dried pasta, cheese, crackers, coffee, tea and dessert. And we have a wonderful variety of platters, baskets and vessels that can be used as home décor,” she adds. In store, you’ll also find small gifts like candles, platters and serving ware. These can be picked up or shipped, to make holiday planning even easier. Some companies are sending beautiful food packages and baskets in liu of holiday parties.

There Are New 2020 Additions…

G&H have designed and creative ways to do what she calls “socially polite catering”, with COVID-friendly packaging and presentations. They’ve also revamped their menus. “We have designed an order selection of individual cocktail menus to dinner selections that are neatly packaged for safety and design presentation,” says Paola. “We are innately social beings and yet  understand the need for sanitary safety. Individual packaging creates a wonderfully relaxed way to entertain.  We are also offering a variety of couples hors d’oeuvres crudités for 2, antipasto mix and more. We’re also happy to design a personalized menu to customers request,” says Paola.

…But Like Always, It’s All Homemade

“All of our food is made by scratch. Meaning every vegetable, herb, soup  and sauce are made from the raw ingredients,” notes Paola. She says the constant calls from customers saying they have the best soup or pot pie is what keeps her dedicated to offering a vast variety of cooking.

Says Paola: “It takes a lot of manpower to produce what we do but it has been our goal from inception to provide healthy and delicious meals to our communities families as life  keeps getting busier and good food and good health are vital to a happy and healthy life. We are truly grateful for so many of our long time and new customer base for supporting our business.”
