The Norma Pfriem Breast Center has helped women in our community fight breast cancer since 1999. The money raised for the Breast Center ensures all women receive exceptional and compassionate care, regardless of their ability to pay. The Breast Center not only provides excellent medical treatment, but also provides services to their patients like massage, yoga, support groups, therapy, acupuncture and more. They treat the whole patient, body, mind and spirit.
Every October, the Breast Center turns the community PINK to bring awareness to the Norma Pfriem Breast Center as well as to the importance of early detection through mammograms. They call this campaign, PINK PLEDGE. Throughout the month, merchants, restaurants, fitness centers, schools and more turn PINK and raise money funds in support of Pink Pledge. This year, Pink Pledge celebrated its 5th anniversary. To celebrate, the Breast Center put together two walks. The first was on October 5th at Penfield Beach in Fairfield. The second will take place on October 13th at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. To learn about everything taking place during Pink Pledge, go to www.PinkPledge.org.
Another exciting event that takes place during October is the Pink Pop Up Party. The Pink Pop Up Party initially began as a fashion show fundraiser at its inception 6 years ago, then it became a Lip Sync Battle event for 3 years and is returning to its roots as a fashion show this year! The Pink Pop Up Party: Fashion Edition will take place on October 18th at the Penfield Beach Pavilion in Fairfield at 7 pm. Local “celebrity” models will be strutting the runway in fashions for Penfield Collective, Swim ‘n Surf and Perfect Pair. To buy your tickets, go to http://bphosp.convio.net/popup2019
