Strawberry Season! - FairfieldMoms

It’s Strawberry season!!! And why not get out there and load up on these fresh strawberries to have throughout the summer (yes you can pick that many!) There are new guidelines in place (reservations, mask wearing, etc.) but it’s all worth it!

We took a trip to Jones yesterday and it’s so fun to see it at another time other then Pumpkin season! Making a reservation made the process quick! Talk about organized over there! Yes you have to wear a mask when you check in but after that it’s ok to take off! They spread you out nicely and we have no idea how there is enough strawberries for everyone! It was a warm day so bring water. Strollers are not permitted but we did see one, so not sure how that got by all the workers!

Jones Family Farms

It is about half hr from Fairfield in Shelton

Jones is known for picking your own strawberries and blueberries in the summer, pumpkins in the fall, and Christmas trees starting right after Thanksgiving. They have the cutest gift shop and winery! Make a reservation  here, and view their COVID-19 guidelines here. Do not forget to go to Plasko’s Creamery on the way home, who doesn’t need Strawberry Ice Cream after a day of picking Strawberries!

Strawberry recipes coming next Tuesday!

Silverman’s Farm

Right over the Fairfield line in Easton we have our very own Silverman’s! We have events being planned for here when things get back to normal so hopefully you will be hearing about our family friendly events soon! The petting zoo is the cutest, where they can feed the animals and play in the kid area! Pick your own peaches starting the second week of July, or hit up the market for fresh fruit, veggies, and pies. Pick your own opens mid-June for the 2020 season. View their COVID-19 guidelines here.

Bishop’s Orchards

Drive up to Branford for a fun day out and maybe a little further for a Lobster Roll along the shoreline 🙂
Strawberries are the first to arrive, then blueberries, raspberries, peaches, pears, apples, and pumpkins. Don’t miss the sunflower maze in the fall. They just recently opened for business so make a day out of it!

Lyman Orchards

In good old Middlefield. This is a fun drive, also along the golf course, so drop off the dads
and pick your own strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, pears, and pumpkins. A fun and easy drive so bring some lunch and enjoy the day! View their COVID-19 guidelines here.
