Dryers are a leading cause of home fires in the U.S. Nearly 16,000 dryer related fires were reported
between 2020-2014, according to the NFPA 1 . Closer to home in the past year, dryer fires have been
reported on Division Avenue in Fairfield, Laurel Court in Bridgeport, Wells Street in Bridgeport, Carl Drive in Coventry, McGrath Court in Stratford, Seramonte Estates in Hamden, Cambria Suites Hotel in South Windsor, and at a laundromat on North Street in Bridgeport.
Lint is highly flammable, and all dryers have either a heating element for electric dryers, or a flame for gas
dryers. Lint clogs and other issues can lead to fires, and gas dryers pose the additional risk of carbon
monoxide backing up into your home.
Condos and apartment complexes are increasingly requiring tenants to have their dryer vents serviced.
But for many homeowners, dryer vents still don’t make it on the home maintenance radar. Customers
usually call us when their clothes aren’t drying in one load, there is a burning or moldy smell on the
laundry room, an air flow warning light comes on the dryer, or the unit shuts off automatically due to
overheating. It’s much better to get ahead of these problems with regular, preventative maintenance.
Our mission at Dryer Vent Wizard is to prevent home fires by ensuring that your dryer vent line is fully
cleaned and properly installed.
A well-functioning dryer vent provides other tangible benefits: your clothes
will dry faster (saving time and energy), lessen damage to your fabrics, and extend the life of your dryer.
To accomplish this, we must do more than “clean dryer vents”. Certainly, vent lines clogged with lint are a
key problem. But you can’t clean a vent line that is made of the wrong material without destroying it. And
many of the homes we visit have vent lines that through time, neglect, or poor installations are in various states of disrepair, often using faulty (in many cases – flammable) materials—leading to dangerous
That’s why we are a full-service dryer vent business, prepared not only to professionally clean
dryer vents, but to repair and upgrade components, replace or re-route existing vent systems, and even
install new vent lines.
Our trained technicians inspect your entire dryer vent system. This includes performing air flow tests,
inspecting the dryer for lint buildup, the flexible hose on the back of your dryer, the main vent line, and the
vent cover on the exterior of your home. We make sure that your system meets building codes, is in good
repair and is optimally efficient. Our technicians discuss the results of their inspection with you and
provide their recommendation before doing any work. We (almost always) do the work in the same
appointment. We limit the number of appointments a technician can do in one day to allow time for
Our friendly and knowledgeable techs are committed to providing a great experience for each customer,
sharing their knowledge, doing the highest quality work, and leaving your home as clean as they found it.
Additionally, all our work is protected by our 90-Day Done Right Promise.
