Kalahari - A quick getaway to a great indoor waterpark! - FairfieldMoms

Last week we had the pleasure of skipping school and headed to the Poconos to visit Kalahari. This being my second indoor water park experience and something I hope never had to do as a parent, was such a fun experience and different then the last place we went and a lot bigger with more to do. It’s great for all ages and going one night was great but I bet 2 full days would have been more fun, so definitely try to stay two! We got there around 1 It is three hrs from Fairfield, but was the day of the 95 Fire in Norwalk so I think is normally 2/2.5 hrs.

We went to the water park as soon as we got there and spent hours there! We got a locker right away, checked out all areas, had a drink, enjoyed all the ride and ended at the the hot tub which went outside which was great because weather was perfect. The outdoor area was getting ready to open so it wasn’t while we were there but looks huge and so fun! We did the lazy river which is just my speed, then my 7 year old and 3 and a half year old enjoyed all the kiddie areas, the wave pool, the mini lazy river, some slides and the surfing challenge, so cute to watch! They even have an adults only swim up bar which looked fun!

We headed to our room to get ready for dinner and enjoyed the Italian restaurant but had choices of Burgers, Mexican and Steakhouse. It is also connected to the Convention Center so that’s very smart, saw a lot of parents part of the conference while kids and others enjoyed the waterpark.

    .

We of course had to make a Build-a Bear which was right in the lobby and something we have never done. It was so cute to let them pick out which one they wanted, the outfits, the filling and something to remember their trip! We had an early dinner so we would have time to check out the arcade with all their kid rides, games and then prizes. We were shot and in bed by 8:30pm!

The next day I enjoyed the spa, doing the salt cave, then sauna, and hot tube area, taking over an hour to myself, it was amazing, I should have stayed for longer! They also had massages, facials, and nails area.
