• Description: Maritime Rowing Club’s Summer Youth Learn to Row Programs draw elementary, middle school, and high school-aged youth from all over Fairfield County and the surrounding area. Our coaching staff offers an opportunity for all levels to develop their full rowing potential with solid rowing skills and team fundamentals. No experience necessary- all skill levels are welcome! Sessions are outdoors, group sizes are limited, and all athletes learn to row in various types of boats both sculling and sweeping (rowing with one oar). Emphasis is on water safety and rowing basics both on and off the water. Athletes improve strength, fitness, flexibility, mental toughness, and discipline

SAUGATUCK ROWING CLUB

  • Session 1: 6/15-6/26
  • Session 2: 6/29-7/10 
  • Session 3: 7/13-24
  • Session 4: 7/27-8/7
  • Session 5: 8/10-8/21
  • **Each session has 2 sessions to choose from 9:00am-11:45am OR 1:00pm-3:45pm
• Ages: 11-15 years old
• Program Description: We offer 2-week, 2.75-hour daily Youth Intro Rowing Sessions. Most rowers are new to the sport or have limited experience. We limit each session to a smaller group of 20 rowers. The rowers will have the opportunity to experience both Sweep rowing and Sculling. The rowers will spend time on land working on necessary body weight strengthening, balancing, and flexibility exercises. They will also learn about the rowing machine, and there will be some downtime for recreational activities. The goal is for the rowers to have a fun introduction to the sport.
