Meet a Mom - Georgette Pascale - FairfieldCTMoms

Known as “The Connector,” Georgette Pascale has almost 30 years of experience in PR, marketing, communications, social media, IR, business development, entrepreneurship, and agency leadership (the agency she founded, grew, and sold was completely virtual two decades ago, way pre pandemic). She is a recognized speaker and highlights her best accomplishments are being a single mom and boxer, rather than talk about her awards, board appointments and accolades. People appreciate her direct, authentic, and realistic style, as well as her “action over ideas” and “bespoke business” mentality. She is not afraid to be a bold transformer and is currently building new ventures via her BE YOUR OWN G. brand (speaking opportunities, marketing & business consulting, podcast), a local community for parents of teenagers and a mobile catering company. Talk about keeping it diverse!

Where are you originally from and how long have you been in
Fairfield?
Born in Bridgeport and lived in Milford, CT, then NYC, then Pittsburgh then back here to Fairfield. Been back a decade now!

Tell us about your Family!
Single mama to three teenagers and one boxer doggy (I love boxing, and it made sense)! Bianca is 19,
Lucia is 18, Carlo s 16 and Lana (my dog) is 2.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a homebody and speed read at an aggressive pace lol. Any memoir or thriller fiction!!

One thing you wish someone would have told you about
motherhood?
That is teaches you waaay more than you teach them.

What’s your favorite thing about raising a family in Fairfield?
Proximity to beaches, NYC, international airports, Boston, amazing schools, etc.

Best mom hack that makes your life easier?
Accept your kid for who they are. Guide them, don’t mold them.

Tell us about your business ‘Be your own G’, and when & why you decided to start up this business? When I sold my marketing agency a few years back, I wanted to focus on aspects of my experience that I really loved, so started my BE YOUR OWN G. brand. it encompasses my narrative of having your own back and I host a podcast of the same name. I also provide speaking opportunities (workshops, keynotes, panel moderation) to
companies and organizations and any business consulting in the areas of marketing, communication, leadership, company culture. I like that as an ex-C suite professional, I can now apply my skills in a bespoke way to whoever needs it, whenever they  need it! Being efficient and effective to help educate others. Like a fractional CMO.

Why is it important to Be your own G?
Because its literally always you versus you. I’ve learned so much by truly working on myself and accepting that everything is ultimately impermanent. We must embrace each second, even when it’s hard. And taking care of yourself is the ultimate flex. I am getting there slowly but surely.

Tell us about the different services that you offer?
For BE YOUR OWN G., speaking/ podcast/ consulting. I also run Bo’s Dough, a local fried dough on the go catering service. Sweet or savory options, it’s a homage to my late uncles (Bo) dream. Perfect for private events. I also founded MiddleMeets, which is a community for parents of teens, providing resources and
camaraderie about the aspects of being a teen today, whether post HS plans, mental health, phone usage, etc., it’s a hard time to raise (and be) a teen. middlemeetsbyg.com

Best advice for moms who experience the inevitable MOM GUILT handling a career and raising a family?
Learn to let the smaller inconveniences and annoyances go and realize how temporary they truly are. Be in the moment as much as possible to enjoy all that you can. Ask and/or accept help. Self-respect is a great example for our children! Learn to also REST. SO important to feel our best, and I wish I started doing this more before 51 lol!

Who has most influenced you to be the mom that you are today?
My dad

What advice would you share with a new mom or other moms?
Go with your gut. Apologize to your kids when you F up. You’re never failing, just learning and collecting info. ENJOY THE RIDE- IT DOES GO QUICK!!!!!!!
