Tell us about your Family!
My husband Scott and I were set up on a blind date 13 years ago and have been together ever since. He’s from Boston and works in the movie business. We have two kids- a 9 year old daughter, Jagger, and a 7 year old son, Cy, and an adopted one-eyed dog, named Brady. We love spending our summers in Mexico on a lake with my extended family.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I love listening to 40s Junction on Sirius (I LOVE 40s music).
One thing you wish someone would have told you about motherhood?
Oh, gosh- not sure and pretty certain I wouldn’t have listened anyway!
Best mom hack that makes your life easier?
I’m a strong believer in less is more. Less activities & engagements, less toys, just less stuff in general. Stuff tends to lead to junk and by clearing that all out I have more time to focus my energy on what really matters.
Tell us about your business bette green, and when & why you decided to start up this business?
With a daughter entering her tweens I noticed a lack of safe, natural, efficacious skincare options. I created bette green because I wanted to give my daughter an create an empowering tool to get our daughters everyday essential started on their journey of figuring out how to be independent & take care of themselves. Our Cleansing Stick is a fun and easy way for our daughters to take control and feel good in their skin. I grew up with the idea of beauty as a connector and source of community and bette green is a celebration of that tradition. Bette green is creating naturally clean, cruelty-free skincare that not only builds routine but strengthens connections, too.
Why is it important to start children young washing their faces and taking care of themselves?
On a practical level, washing our faces is about hygiene as much as it is about beauty. Our kids wear sunblock, sweat, play outside in (sadly) polluted conditions and all that needs to get cleaned off. The earlier we build routines the On a deeper level, talking about hygiene and beauty with our girls (&boys) can work as conversation starters into bigger topics about body and self-image. Something as simple as skincare can be a moment that brings us together.

Best advice for moms who experience the inevitable MOM GUILT handling a career and raising a family?
I’ve been trying really hard to be present & just enjoy the time I have with my kids- even if it’s just the short ride to school or when I tuck them in at night. Taking those few minutes to let go of everything else and just be present with them makes me feel connected to them.
Who has most influenced you to be the mom that you are today?
I was really lucky to grow up surrounded by a really large & diverse tribe of women trying their best. My mom, grandmother, 4 aunts, god-mother and other wonderful, close family friends. I like to think I’ve picked up lessons and tools from all of them and have fashioned them into my own style of being a mom.
What advice would you share with a new mom or other moms?
Listen to your gut & trust that you know your child better than anyone else. Also, we’re all going to make mistakes. Our parents did, and we do too. My personal goal is to not keep repeating the same mistakes!
