Where are you originally from and how long have you been in Fairfield?
I am originally from England! A place called Sussex, right in between London and Brighton. I moved to Fairfield with my husband in 2017!
Tell us about your Family!
I have two sweet girls, Maiya (4…almost 5!) and Cleo (18m). They both love dance parties and exploring outside! We also have a Goldendoodle, Wallace who did not stop growing! He is now 100lbs and the girls are snuggling, playing, and teasing him all day every day. He really is 100lbs of love!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I am also trained and certified in Phlebotomy!
One thing you wish someone would have told you about motherhood?
That the whole “no sleeping thing” lasts years and years, not just a few months with a newborn, haha!
What’s your favorite thing about raising a family in Fairfield?
I love how close we are to Manhattan and other areas of the country that are within driving distance (Mystic, Newport, etc!) I love how there are family-friendly events almost every weekend, there’s always something to do, or see! We really love that there is both the beach and the lake for hiking all within 10 minutes of our home!
Best mom hack that makes your life easier?
Boiling pasta in bone broth, so they get extra protein! and freezing berries as a dessert, they think they’re getting such an ice cream treat!
Tell us about your business, and when & why you decided to start up this business?
Since 2020, I’ve owned and steered Socialtide—a venture born riiiight before the pandemic. My journey into the world of marketing, particularly social media, began amidst my thriving Interior Design business. Even during those times, I always knew I had a niche for marketing, especially with social Media
My initial exposure to social media management, in a professional role, came with a previous employer. As fate would have it, I found myself handling their social media accounts, and witnessing a remarkable growth. Those experiences served as invaluable learning curves, enriching my understanding of the digital marketing landscape.
With the arrival of Maiya, I decided to leverage my expertise and success in interior design to venture into the realm of social media marketing. Thus, Socialtide was born. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to assist a diverse array of clients—from major players in the beauty industry to small, local salons, and even establishments in the food industry. I have also been able to collaborate with other marketing agencies, where my expertise has been instrumental in helping businesses across various sectors navigate the complexities of digital marketing.

What do you think you’d be doing if you weren’t into social media?
I would definitely be within the design space somehow. Fun Fact: I have always wanted to own my own furniture store OR cafe!

Best advice for moms who experience the inevitable MOM GUILT handling a career and raising a family?
Mom guilt is a constant companion in my daily life, whether it’s because I am working, or because I didn’t feed my girls enough vegetables that day, or forgot to fold the clothes sitting in the dryer for the 4th day in a row.. it’s a relentless presence. Yet, amidst the guilt, I try and remind myself that the journey of motherhood is inherently imperfect.
Reflecting on my upbringing, as well as those of family and friends—each with their unique circumstances, be it working moms, single moms, or stay-at-home moms— we all turned out pretty darn good. It serves as a poignant reminder that despite our varied paths, we share a common bond: the unwavering dedication to doing our best.
Moms, in all their forms, are doing their best in the unpredictable terrain of parenthood. I try and embrace the imperfections, celebrate the victories, and above all, recognize that we’re all just doing our best.
Who has most influenced you to be the mom that you are today?
It’s going to sound so cheesy, but I have to give credit to my husband. He’s not just a significant presence in my life; he’s the reason I relocated across the ocean, uprooting my entire world to be with him. He is such a loving and caring dad, he’s taught me so much about myself that I never knew! And that has definitely played a huge part on how I navigate being a mom for our girls
What advice would you share with a new mom or other moms?
Take time for yourself! Even if it’s 20 minutes.

Grab Dessert: 16 Handles is our 4yo’s current fave, we also love a crumbl cookie delivery!
Vacation destination: We have a soft spot for the Bahamas, but we usually go back to London a few times a year! and we also go to NH every year with my husbands family which is so lovely!
